Every tank does some good

We are committed to making a positive and lasting contribution to people’s lives by investing in our local communities. We believe that effective education including science, technology, and maths will help foster bright young talent in our Irish communities, giving our children the opportunity for a brighter economic future.

We know that education is very important to Irish families and to local communities. So we feel passionately about making a meaningful contribution in that area.

Every time you make a purchase at an Inver station, we’ll make a donation to think tank. At Inver, we call it fuel for thought.

Fuelling young minds with technology

Total contributions to date:

Inver’s think tank currently sponsors three educational initiatives to inspire our children to be excited about maths, science and technology and the opportunities that will be available to them with that knowledge. These are Techspace, Learnstorm and Creative Techfest. Our funding helps these organisations provide children with fun learning opportunities within our local schools and our communities.

Learnstorm is an exciting programme that inspires and encourages children in primary and secondary schools to enhance their mathematical learning. It began in 2013 in Ireland as the MATHletes Challenge to increase Irish students’ competence and confidence in mathematics.

The success of MATHletes inspired Khan Academy to take the challenge to the world as Learn Storm. This change makes Ireland a co-founding country, along with the USA, of a new global learning movement.

Techspace

Techspace is a transformative national movement, managed by Camara Ireland. Members include Foróige, YMCA Ireland, NYCI and many other partners and supporters. The TechSpace Programme builds the capacity of youth organisations to integrate ICT in youth education programs.

Techspace trains and supports educators to provide young people with access to creative technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) programs. Educators then open up a “TechSpace” in their youth centre. At a “TechSpace” young people are inspired to create, produce and have fun with digital technology – becoming creators, inventors, and makers with technology, rather than consumers of technology.

Creative Techspace

This is an annual event for the new generation of creators, inventors and makers, aged 10+ years to exhibit an amazing array of creative technology projects they create throughout the year.

It is an annual celebration and exhibition of all the amazing content created by young people from across the country who participate in the TechSpace Program.
