Inver Punches Cross are finalists in Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience 2016 Retailer Awards

These awards represent the pinnacle of convenience and forecourt retailing across the Republic of Ireland. Irish forecourt and Convenience magazine stated they received hundreds of entries and the competition was ‘fierce’.  Each applicant underwent a comprehensive judging process by the magazines independent adjudicators Spotcheck.

The two nominations are:  finalists in the Newcomer of the Year category and finalists in the Forecourt Category 1 with C Store up to 1100 sq ft.

Shane and Michael Gleeson operate the Punches Cross service station and the attached Spar Shop and deli.  The brothers also operate Spar shops in Catherine Street and Henry Street and the new Inver forecourt in Castletroy, Limerick.

Shane stated, ‘We wanted to expand our business and take it in a new direction,  it’s an exciting time to do something different, spar shops within service stations are moving faster than any other segment of the business.  Inver really make working with them a collaborative effort and they communicate well and endeavour to assure success. We are delighted with the two nominations for the Inver Punches Cross service station.

Inver’s first company owned service station opens at Punches Cross, Limerick


Inver’s first company owned service station opened December 2015 in Punches Cross, Limerick.  This state of the art company owned site, has revitalised the local community with a much needed local service station.

This new service station opened with very strong fuel sales as the surrounding neighbours enjoy the convenience of a modern local station, selling quality traceable fuel. This station offers full services to customers and a Spar shop. Shane Gleeson a long standing retailer operates the service station and shop.

Inver’s think tank opens a new Techspace in Limerick

Inver continues to focus on community and education with the latest Techspace opening in Limerick at the Learning Hub Limerick, Kileely House, New Road, Kileely, Limerick. Techspace encourages and inspires our young people to create, produce and have fun with digital technology, they enjoy becoming creators and inventors rather than passive consumers of technology.

Ben Lenihan, Inver’s Retail Director explains “think tank is our way of making a meaningful contribution to our local community. Every time fuel is purchased at an Inver forecourt a cent is put into the think tank. Our focus is on children and education, we seek to improve their maths, science and technology skills. We achieve this though an amazing partnership with Camara Ireland and Foroige”.
